There is a setting to tell STM Cube where you want the zips downloaded to if you want dig through the software - or you can let Cube build you a customized. Actually, my colleague who does the HW, uses CubeMX as a successor of the former pin-selector javoid (I forgot the name, it animated ellipses instead of cube-wireframes in About - I still see this as the most remarkable feature of these softwares;-) ).

STM32Cube Programmer on arch linux
Hello, I need help getting my toolchain to work. I installed eclipse, gcc-arm, openOCD, STM32CubeMX (which work fine), as well as the GNU ARM MCU plugins and of course eclipse CDT. My simple blink program for the Nucleo-F401RE builds fine. But the STM32Cube Programmer which I got directly from here does not launch: when I execute the launcher, I get a window saying:
There is no other error message besides that, so I don't know which dependencies might be missing or what else.
I'd be happy to get my binaries on the board some other way, but maybe someone here has successfully fixed that problem already.
